Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-05-15

This Privacy Policy describes how BookingVerdict ("we", "us", "our", the "Site") collects, uses, and protects information about visitors. It also serves as the legal-entity disclosure required by French law (mentions légales). Please read it carefully.

1. Who is responsible for your data

The Site bookingverdict.com is operated and published by:

  • Squad Studios, SASU
  • Registered office: 52 rue de Brissac, 49000 Angers, France
  • SIREN: 899468771
  • Share capital: 500 €
  • Intra-EU VAT number: FR88899468771

Squad Studios SASU is the "data controller" under EU GDPR and the "business" under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA).

Hosting: The Site is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA (cloudflare.com).

2. What we collect

We collect minimal data. We do not sell personal information.

  • Anonymized analytics — Aggregated page-view data via a privacy-friendly analytics provider (Plausible Analytics, EU-hosted). No cookies, no personal identifiers, IP addresses anonymized before aggregation.
  • Affiliate-link clicks — When you click an affiliate link, you are redirected to a third-party merchant who may set their own cookies. We do not control these cookies; they are governed by the merchant's privacy policy.
  • Email correspondence — If you contact us at editorial or corrections email addresses, we retain the email and message for editorial follow-up. We do not add you to a marketing list. Retention: 24 months after last contact, unless legally required to retain longer.
  • Server logs — Standard web server access logs processed by Cloudflare may include IP addresses and user agents. Retained briefly by Cloudflare for security and performance; we do not retain or process raw server logs directly.

3. Cookies and similar technologies

BookingVerdict does not set any first-party tracking cookies. Our analytics provider is cookie-less. Third-party merchants may set their own cookies when you click affiliate links — those are governed by the merchant's privacy policy. Typical affiliate cookie durations: Amazon Associates 24 hours, SaaS vendor referral programs 30–90 days.

4. Legal basis for processing (GDPR Article 6)

For visitors in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, our legal bases are:

  • Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) for aggregated anonymized analytics, security logging, and responding to editorial correspondence.
  • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) for any optional functionality requiring stored preferences (not currently in use).
  • Compliance with a legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)) where retention of communications or transactional records is mandated by French commercial or tax law.

5. Your rights under GDPR

If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Rectify inaccurate personal data
  • Request erasure ("right to be forgotten")
  • Port your data to another service in a structured, machine-readable format
  • Object to or restrict processing based on legitimate interest
  • Withdraw consent at any time where consent is the legal basis
  • Lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority (in France: CNIL)

To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected] with the subject "Privacy request". We respond within 30 days per GDPR Article 12.

6. Your rights under CCPA/CPRA (California)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

  • Know what personal information is collected, used, shared, or sold (we do not sell)
  • Request deletion of personal information collected from you
  • Correct inaccurate personal information
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share for cross-context behavioral advertising)
  • Limit use and disclosure of sensitive personal information
  • Non-discrimination — we will not deny service or charge a different price because you exercised your rights

Email [email protected] with the subject "CCPA request". We respond within 45 days as required by California law.

7. Children

BookingVerdict is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information to us, please contact us and we will delete it. This complies with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

8. International transfers

Because Cloudflare's network is global, your interaction with the Site may involve data transit through servers located outside your country, including in the United States. Cloudflare's standard processing complies with relevant data-transfer mechanisms (including the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework where applicable).

9. Third-party services

  • Cloudflare, Inc. — hosting, DNS, CDN, DDoS protection. Cloudflare Privacy Policy
  • Plausible Analytics — EU-hosted, cookie-less. Plausible Privacy Policy
  • Affiliate networks — Amazon Associates, vendor-specific referral platforms (Impact, ShareASale, PartnerStack, CJ Affiliate). Each governs its own data practices.

10. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Substantive changes are reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes are noted on the homepage for at least 14 days.
